As educators, it is your primary role to mold young minds into being a better generation than the one that went before them. To help increase their self-respect and self-esteem
Young students often have trouble believing in themselves. More often than not, they find validation from their peers or the wrong adult role models. Providing them with the right amount of attention will boost their confidence with the knowledge that someone is listening to them. These days, it’s more important to build the child’s self-esteem in order to encourage him or her. Otherwise, they would spend more of their time with people who might influence them to do the wrong choices. Don’t allow that to happen and be attentive when you are speaking to these kids.

You can identify certain aspects of their personality that can be strengthened and negative traits that can be transformed. Furthermore, you can also get an insight into their personal lives and know more about what motivates them. All of these, and more, can be gained when you listen well to these kids.

Since listening brings a wealth of information on your students, you can provide the proper feedback to their parents. These people are the main authority in their lives and they can make the greatest impact in molding their personalities. Commend your students well on areas that they did right and inform these parents where they need to focus more, such as listening to their kids.
