Help in learning to develop proper pencil grip

The main thing you must do is to make sure the student is grasping the pencil correctly. For that, you need to teach the students to hold the pencil firmly. It should be held with the index finger and thumb, with the middle finger supporting it. Ask students not to grasp the pencil tightly. Well, pencil grips that are available in the stationary shops can also be used to develop better grip.

Ask them to write with the right pace

As you would be dealing with the bunch of kids in your classroom or student care center and each student has their own speed. Teach students not to rush but to set a timeline and speed as some take a long time to complete their writing. Remember that slow students will soon lose interest in writing if you rush them. You would surely do not want this to happen. So, keep patient with everyone especially with those who prefer to write slowly.

Getting the proportions right

Students need to be taught that how capital letter differs from the small letters. No doubt, getting the proportions wrong is the root cause of bad handwriting. You can help them in adopting the correct formation of the letters. Ask your students to use a four-line notebook for practicing writing, and it will bring wonders to their handwriting.

Make writing fun

It is a bit difficult for kids to copy and paste the words. Try to make the practicing fun, and you can engage your students in some interesting writing activities or games such as word puzzles, connecting the dots, hangman, etc. and can give them an assignment that they can do peacefully as well as excitingly at home. This tactic will not only lend a hand in enhancing their handwriting but will also help you in making your students to love homework.

Do not pressurize

Pressuring is one of the worst things teacher should never do in the class. Remember that patience is the ultimate key to success. It is also vital to remain calm while helping your students enhance their handwriting. Also, make sure to give your students enough breaks as insisting or rushing them will not bring real results.

Key Point 1:

Give a sample writing assignment at the beginning of the class as they will be fresh in the morning and would enthusiastically write an assignment.

Key Point 2:

Try to make it a competition and give a reward to the top three. This will give your students a boost and will inspire others to endeavor for writing good.
